Review of-Cerebral Palsy A Story: Finding the Calm After the Storm

I received a free copy of this book from the Author. Although, my opinion of this book may be more biased than most, it does not skew my review of Ilana’s story.

“Cerebral Palsy A Story: Finding the Calm After the Storm“, by Ilana Estelle, is about the author’s struggles and thoughts after growing up with Cerebral Palsy and not find out about it until after adulthood. The lack of knowledge about her diagnosis was due to her parents not telling her, until later in life.

Along with her CP diagnosis, she was diagnosed as autistic. Ilana also discusses her struggles with living with Autism through the story as well. She described what the physical, mental, and behavioral struggles went along with both disorders.

Ilana’s story was eye opening in many ways, but also uplifting. She discusses positive ways she lives her life, that would even be motivational for some who don’t have the everyday struggles of living with a disability. It was inspirational to someone who has had similar struggles. The story was positive and would be motivational for anyone who read it.

I highly recommend Ilana’s book to any reader. It is informative and motivational. The content is easy to read and organized to make it a fast read, or easy to read on the go. I liked how book was structured with snippets of thoughts and reflections from the author.

Although, I have a mild form of Cerebral Palsy, a lot of the symptoms Ilana describes within the book that are due to CP, I struggle with. It was nice to know that I am not alone in my struggles with the disorder.
