Review Thursday 4: A Must for Creators

Welcome to another Review Thursday. Due to health issues, neck and shoulder pain have been a frequent problem all my life. Any work from a desk or table has always aggravated the issue. As a writer, it always made writing days more sporadic, depending on how I felt after hours of tilting my head and neck downwards to focus on my writing. Also, with being six foot three, my height has made it difficult to raise the paper and pen closer to eye level. It leads one to wonder how many other writers struggle with the same problem.

About a year ago, it dawned on me that a drafting table or desk could possibly lessen the discomfort caused by writing, creating, and, sometimes, reading. It could not only raise and lower, but also tilt towards me and keep my head and neck position closer to where it should be to lessen strain.

The Topeakmart Height Adjustable Drafting Table is the desk that I eventually settled on. It had all perks that I was looking for and fit in budget. The two biggest needs were met with it having a tilting work surface and raising desk height tall enough to accommodate my size. Storage and other aspects were a plus as well. It has two drawers, a pull-out surface, cups, and trays that all have come in handy. Although I haven’t worked with the microphone in its current location, the positioning with the desk is perfect.

I highly recommend this desk, or one similar, for creators. It eases the strain on the neck and shoulders and is useful for multiple creative mediums.

The only negative I’ve experienced was an easily stripped bolt while assembling it. I purchased mine from Michael’s, but I’ve attached a link to the desk name that you can click to research further if interested.

Thanks for checking out the latest Review Thursday. Have a safe weekend.
