Review Thursday 7: Cat Door Holder Latch

Welcome back to another Review Thursday, but on a Friday. I’ve had a lot happening lately, hence the gap in posting. I will be working ahead to write more reviews throughout the week to get a lot of content ready to load and post.

Today’s product is a definite plus for owners of cats and medium, or large, dogs. It is the Cat Door Holder Latch. Vexahlia (our dog) kept eating all of Gizmo’s food. This item has made a world of difference. The only time that she has got into the cat’s food is when we’ve forgotten to use the door latch when exiting the room.

That has been our main use for it, but there are other ways to utilize it as well. You can also place it to secure the door to a litter box room. If you have no cats, but still have dogs, you could use it to keep air flow in the house without letting the dogs into certain rooms.

It works by looping it over the door handle and a prong on the opposite end inserts into the latch plate on the door frame. If force is applied to either side of the door, the prong catches within the latch plate and prevents the door from opening or closing.

Granted, it’s not 100% effective. Our roommates’ dog has figured out how to open the door with the latch on, from the inside. I’m not sure if he muscles his way through or noses the latch to release the prong from inside the latch plate.

The Cat Door Holder Latch is another product that I highly recommend. If you’re interested in getting a pair for yourself, click the button below to get two, or more. Thank you for reading another Review Thursday. Stay tuned for Update Monday, there will be a ton to update you on and many more things for you to check out and ways to show your support. Have a great weekend.
