S. N. Bronstein

  •  What is your preferred genre to write?

My preferred genre to write is crime stories.  I have written a series for adult readers as well as a series for children ages 9-12 about cats who are private detectives.

  • What is one major struggle you have with writing?

I have no problem with sitting down and writing when my creative side is active. The story just seems to flow instinctively. My biggest struggle is the editing phase.

  • Out of all of your stories, which one did you most enjoy writing?

I enjoyed writing the children’s series, but I think The Case of the Miami Vigilante was my most difficult but enjoyable work. A lot of research went into it.

  • What projects are you currently working on?

The Case of the Small Town Coroner, a medical thriller, is about to go to the publisher. It’s about a big city detective taking on the police and medical examiner in a small Florida town over a suspected murder classified as a suicide.

  • Do you place any of your life experiences into your stories?

For a number of years I worked with police agencies as an administrator in a school system. My role was to support child welfare investigations and parental neglect. This gave me the background to write crime stories.

  • If your story could be made into a play or movie, what actor/actress do you think would be the perfect fit to play your mc?

If my adult series was to be made into a movie, Joe Pesci would have to play Detective Lavender.

  • What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I ever received was to never count words or set time frames while writing. Write when you are creatively ready, and when the story is told, it’s done.
